Littleton Thunder BOYS LACROSSE INFORMATION:
Littleton Thunder offers spring lacrosse teams for youth players K – 8th grade. Littleton Thunder and all AYL teams are grouped based upon grade level, K – 8th. High school students are not permitted to play in the AYL.
Teams are formed based on age, grade, and playing experience. Returning players and teams are formed based on coaches and previous experience. Coaches provide input for teams based on previous rosters and team formation. New players will create new teams or be added to an existing team roster based on team numbers.

REGISTRATION:
- Registration begins in November and closes when the team’s rosters are complete.
- All Thunder players are required to be US Lacrosse members, you can renew or join US Lacrosse during registration.
- Regular REGISTRATION – November - April
PRACTICES & GAMES:
Littleton Thunder lacrosse teams practice at South Suburban Parks Fields in and around Littleton, CO. Many teams practice at the following locations:
- Dekovend Park at University and Arapahoe Rd.
- Cornerstone Park at Windermere and Belleview
Teams practice 2-3x per week depending on the team and coach. Games may be played at any of the AYL lacrosse fields throughout South Metro Denver. Practices will start in late February / early March. Games will begin in March and go to the middle of May, ending in a Playoff Weekend and Championship. Some teams may participate in post-season (summer/fall/winter) tournaments/leagues.
BOYS EQUIPMENT:
Players are responsible for providing their own equipment including:
Lacrosse helmet, gloves, arm pads, shoulder pads, stick, cleats, cup and mouth guard. Rib pads are optional.
Equipment for goalies (stick, chest protector and throat guard) is provided by the Thunder.
Equipment can be purchased at sporting goods stores, Lacrosse Unlimited, Monkey Sports, Dick's Sporting Goods, Play-it-Again Sports, or other stores that deal in sports equipment.

UNIFORMS / Helmet Wraps
Littleton Thunder is working with Champro to provide our team uniforms. Same uniforms for 2024, each player is required to have a uniform for the spring 2024 season. Uniforms will be available for purchase prior to the beginning of the season.
- Reversible game jerseys and reversible game shorts are required
- Reversible practice jersey, shooter shirts, socks, etc. are also available.
- Helmet Wraps are available to be purchased during registration.
The Team Store will open with registration and will be closed January 20, 2024. Orders will be processed as a group order and scheduled to arrive before the first games.
AYL Competition Levels:
The AYL Lacrosse Board of Directors will make the best effort towards dividing each age group into multiple divisions with the goal of like talent and experience levels teams playing against each other. The final placement of all teams in each age division will be at the discretion of the AYL Lacrosse Board of Directors.
- Red: Competitive / Select
- White: Intermediate / Competitive
- Blue: Recreational
AYL TERRITORY ENFORCED:
The Thunder Territory mostly consists of players that will attend Littleton Public Schools.
The AYL is a community focused league. For 2023, the roster mix for the upcoming season is 70% in territory for Blue and White divisions and 60% in territory for Red teams. With the adoption of this policy, ALL rosters will go through an audit and sign off process to be conducted by the AYL Lacrosse Board.
To be considered in-territory, a player must:
- Live within the club's boundaries
- Attend a school within the club's boundaries

GAME SCHEDULE:
Games are typically on Saturday mornings or early afternoon. Each team is provided a mix of home and away games throughout the season. Schedules will be added when schedule is complete Mid March.
COST TO PLAY:
Program costs include field rental expenses, program lacrosse equipment including goals and balls, league fees, official’s charges, coaching and educational expenditures, and administrative costs.
